Visit from the Graves'

After the Oscar Party, Otto and I were pleased to get a visit from RI and Navy friends, Zach and Brigid Graves, and their daughter Maura. It was so good to see them, but it made us both a little homesick. The clan came over for dinner one night here at Chez Johnson. Maura is getting so big, and has a great personality. Unlike most little kids, she wasn't terrified of Otto, and by the end of the evening, I think she was TOTALLY comfortable with him. As they sat next to each other on floor at the end of the night, Maura was even so bold as to snake her arm out of her sweater, and wiggle the empty sleeve in Otto's face, taunting him. It was hilarious!
Brigid and I also were also had a Girls' Night Out with another friend, Nicole. We all had a great time, and Otto and I join to extend them an invitation whenever they want!

Oscar Ex-tra-va-gan-za!!!!!

After going through the last post, I realized that I owed ya'll some photos. I had promised you photos from this year's Oscar Ex-tra-va-gan-za, and now, a few short months later, I am happy to give them to you.
Otto was the only one who dressed up, since I didn't want to make Tisha and Brian uncomfortable or obligated to dress in their best duds. But he looked great as usual. Tisha came over first and we watched some of the show, and then a little later in the evening, we went a picked up 2 things - sushi and Brian.

I think it was a success, and as you will see from the photos, a good time was had by all.

and Otto got him back by getting fresh with Tisha. This picture was taken after Otto advances had been rebuffed.

Hopefully next year, Josh will be able to attend his first Oscar Ex-tra-va-gan-za, because we sure missed him!
